12th January 2019

I am not feeling too positive today after yesterdays debacle in Bentalls and it’s a January feeling! Still it’s Saturday so it must be Park Run day. I managed a complete jog with no stops and in the end was only 21 seconds off my PB gained back in November so not that bad.

Despite sore knees we smartened up and headed over to Hampton Wick Cricket Club where we had been invited to a surprise party for our friend Carole as it was her 70th birthday yesterday. She had no idea of what was planned and this is the look on her face whence opened the door to see over 70 of her friends and family waiting to celebrate with her. It was a great afternoon all organised by her daughter Sarah. There was free flowing Prosecco and a little later afternoon tea with lots of sandwiches, plates of scones loaded with jam and cream and finally lots of mini sakes stands with miniature cakes and profiteroles.

It was a lovely afternoon and something to brighten up January.
