First thing walking to ‘Fat Fighter’s where I learned I had put a pound on (maybe as I had to eat breakfast BEFORE weigh in). Then I jumped onto an R68 and headed to Hampton Court.
A number of months ago my friend Nicola had bought tickets for us and our friend Sarah as a 50th birthday present for her. My part of the deal is to buy the booze! I arrived nearly half an hour early but had time to catch up with Nicola who had driven up and we met Sarah just as she arrived at Hampton Court station over the bridge.
We were in such good time that we were some of the first people in and so it was nice and quiet for the first few hours. We had a great day, chatting and wandering and we did manage to see some of the gardens this year and I actually bought plants - two small lavenders for the back garden. We had a late lunch after another friend turned up and I invested in a jug of Pimms to cool us all down! This year the event has been renamed the Hampton Court Flower Festival and I did notice that there were much less gardens than in previous years but it was still lovely to see and the floral display including this floral headdress were really impressive.
After well over 10,000 footsteps I cheated and caught the R68 home again clutching 4 cheeses that I also purchase for Colin and a special present for Mum - my indecision meant that I ended up buying two similar items as I could not choose between them!
