I finally managed to speak to one of the new managers at Waterstones in Kingston to ascertain when and where my spinner can come back to the shop after it has been closed for a 9 month refurb. I cannot say how cross, disappointed and upset I was to hear that after being promised a return, I cannot put my spinner or any cards or even a smaller spinner back in the shop before Christmas. Apparently there is not enough room. The manager suggested I call them in January to discuss but could not give me an idea of exactly when or whether I could return then.

I really am gutted. I worked for hours making up the Christmas stock in the summer along with replacement stock for the other pockets. When I have got over my initial shock and disappointment I am writing to the very top of the organisation. For years I’ve endured shoddy treatment and abuse from that store. I have nothing to lose except my time and everything to gain!

Colin had already left for Chris’s house to clean the car but he came back early to check I was OK. I visited my friend in Card Collection to ‘off load’ and then spent the afternoon making two batches of flapjacks to take to a firework party tomorrow evening although the forecast is for very bad weather! I have to say they are rather good. I had a large glass of wine this evening for medicinal purposes!
