3rd January 2012

The day started rather cloudy as we set off for a walk into Kingston along the tow path. We have not had a long walk since we walked to Mousehole and back in Cornwall last week. Our footsteps were almost 14,000 by the time we got home.

Whilst in Kingston I decided I’d see if the EE shop was not too busy, there were only a couple of people there so I waited to take out a new SIM only contract. What a surprise! The assistant Nash sorted out a deal for the same price I’m paying now but for 60Gb - 35 Gb more than my current contract - amazing. What was even more surprising was that he did the same for Colin who still had 6 months to run and is now paying £2 less for 40Gb more a month. Rock and roll!

We then decided to walk back through Bushy Park and the clouds cleared to a beautiful afternoon. The fallow deer were grazing in a large herd and I saw a woodpecker. The low light was beautiful.

This evening I baked a cake as Colin’s family are skating at Hampton Court tomorrow and will be coming back here afterwards. I had run out of caster sugar so used golden granulated, ran out of margarine so added butter and was out of self raising flour so added baking powder but surprisingly it has come out very well!

Positive: a very good EE deal on my phone and a beautiful afternoons walk home though Bushy Park
