25th January 2020

How come Saturday comes around so quickly? Rhetorical question.

It was a 7.20am alarm for Park Run and unlike the frost and stunning sunrise of last week, it was grey, chilly and drizzling as my photo of the Heron Pond shows. I managed just two slow downs but have still not managed to break the 30 minute barrier yet this year. I really need to get out in the week to practice but I am being too lazy with these dark mornings!

In the afternoon I finished off preparing the USB sticks and making the presentation boxes for Jenny’s photoshoot and am just waiting for a reply about when to drop them off.

It is Burn’s Night this evening and as I actually like haggis I spotted an interesting chicken and haggis dish called Balmoral Chicken- -chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in sliced of bacon. It can be served with whisky sauce but we both don’t like whisky or - better - peppercorn sauce! It came out rather well I think and I served it with carrots and swede (cheated and bought a pack), red cabbage and mash - Mmm, quite successful.

Positive: Park run with only two stops and a great new dinner dish!
