Day 26 of lock down

It rained heavily overnight which is good for the garden at least and it’s cooler today. We were waiting for Simon Calder’s daily live FaceBook broadcast and I had already typed out our question regarding a refund of Colin’s Le Shuttle fare... we had the third question and Simon actually read it out (and I videoed him!). His answer was not that encouraging but at least we have an idea of where we stand!

Just before lunch I ran the gauntlet to M&S to pick up a paper, milk, lunch and a ‘take-away’ Indian meal for this evening. We are hoping a curry will assist with Colin’s stomach problems caused by having to take strong tablets to help his back problems exacerbated by our lack of movement during this lock down. As usual queuing outside was fine but as before although it was better inside, there were still some idiots with no idea of distancing.

In the afternoon we walked to Bushy Park to check on the moorhen chicks and they are still there with their Mums head just poking out of the reeds so she is doing a good job of protection. We were also able to see the coots eggs - I think there are at least two. We had a good walkout couldn’t be too long as Ian had organised another quiz night at 8.00pm. The Indian meal was very good even though my stomach flared up a bit afterwards - and even better washed down by a couple of beers. The icing on the cake was winning the quiz with 64 points and that was without a nature section - result!
