11th July 2020

Day 109 of semi lock down.

Another early start (not quite as bad as yesterday) as the roofer had promised to come this morning instead having not appeared yesterday. I went to Tescos to stock up on goodies to take to Mum and also dinner for this evening. When I returned Colin was fuming as the roofer had actually turned up but without the right ladder and so promised to return on Monday morning. I then in turn was fuming as we are driving down Cornwall Monday and I wanted an early start to avoid traffic. i really didn’t want to rearrange to Monday but Colin is very worried about a damp problem caused by the rain pouring out of the gutter so I reluctantly agreed after the texted the roofer who in turn replied promising to be here at 8.00am on Monday. A frosty atmosphere - will we be third time lucky?

Chris came over just after lunch to join Colin for a golf game and left Branston for the afternoon. He is a lovely dog but for some reason this time he was very clingy and cried for over an hour and a half for his. I couldn’t manage to distract him until I remembered an old ball in my wardrobe which seemed to cheer him up a bit handworked as a distraction. Needless to say all my plans for work in the afternoon fell by the wayside so I will have to catch up tomorrow before we go away.

I cooked a side of salmon with new potatoes and a lemon meringue pie for dessert which seemed to go down well.
