2nd November 2020

Day 222 of semi lock down.

I am trying to pick myself up a bit so in the morning I had arranged a socially distanced meet up with Carole at The Park in Teddington. We had a coffee outside and luckily it was a lovely day and there were a lot of heaters to keep us warm. This will be the last time I can meet with someone for a while as we head into lock down in a few days.

In the afternoon I posted parcels to Sophie for Isabelle’s birthday and to Mum that I had hoped to deliver in person - they were heavy (perhaps the new Strike book was to such a good idea!). As Mum is currently in Yorkshire I arranged to send them to her neighbour instead to ensure she received them in time. I also slipped in some marzipan balls from M&S into the box to keep her going.

I emailed Waterstones with all the outstanding invoices (over £1,000) and wrapped up the three prints to be delivered tomorrow. Luckily one person has ordered two, so only two drops to do and one of those is at ETNA. I also found what looks like a very good cake company and have ordered Mum a Bakewell sponge - it looks delicious with almond buttercream and raspberry jam filling. I had planned to take her a home made lemon cake but for obvious reasons this will have to do. It is to be delivered on Friday so Ian can pop the candles I sent in her parcel on the top for Sunday.
