3rd January 2021

Day 291 since the start of the 1st lock down.

Another cold, grey and wet day. A typical January day and no trips planned abroad which we normally have for my birthday in February. It’s clear that won’t be happening this year. We are finding it hard to be upbeat.

Two lots of washing later, presents ordered for Charley, James and Izzy were productive. We also binge watched the last three episodes of an eight part excellent drama called The Serpent on BBC1 based on a real life serial killer in South East Asia in the 1970’s - sounds morbid but it was brilliantly put together and even though we knew the outcome it kept us riveted.

Boris Johnson has started to suggest we are heading for another form of lock down and some schools will be closed despite him wanting all children to return to school. The figures below show how the new strain of Covid19 is affecting the figures and we are well on our way to 100,000 deaths in the UK which will be 0.17% of our population.

75,024 PHE dead in the UK (454 deaths in the last 24 hours)
