10th February 2021

Day 329 since the start of the 1st lock down.

Hooray finally a trip out and on the train which I haven’t been on for some months. I had planned a while ago to meet up with my friend Sarah and walk the dogs on Wimbledon Common. This is allowed under lock-down rules!

The trains almost deserted and the few people that were travelling were all wearing face masks and were well spaced out. It was brilliant to see Sarah and Patrick from afar. It was sunny but bitterly cold and I was a bit worried about slipping over on the compacted ice on the pavement although I was looking after Olly this time who is a little less exuberant that Ted the Border Collie. There was some snow on the ground at Cannizaro park but it was not thick enough for good photos. We even managed to have a coffee from a little van next to the hotel. It was not the best coffee I’ve had but tasted extremely good as it was the first one I had for months outside of the house! We ended up heading home earlier than planned as poor old Olly gained massive icefalls on his luxurious long fur on his paws. We tried in vain to remove it until I had the idea of getting a cup of hot water from the coffee van and as it was not boiling we slowly managed to melt the massive ice ball that was on his paw. He was very good and didn’t whimper once.

It felt really good to be able to have a good chat and I’m craving being able to meet up in town for an exhibition and lunch together. As we could not eat lunch together I popped into Waitrose in Raynes Park on my way back on the train.

I finished off with painting theist bit of the skirts and the doorframe.
