A bit of a lie-in this morning - to 8.00am but as the clocks are actually one hour forward now, it was really 7.00am but either way, it was not 5.30am!
Breakfast was included and although there was a good spread, the couple that look after the place were slightly off-putting so we felt rather under their gaze for the entire meal and things kept running out but there was enough to fill us up.
Time to leave for our onward journey, this time we were headed to Bordeaux via Saint Emillion and I was in the driving seat this time. It was quite a drive - 220 miles - but the SatNav took us all the way to the car park so it was not too stressful. The town is lovely, many honey coloured sandstone buildings and unsurprisingly, a lot of wine shops! We enjoyed our first crepe of our time in France. It was really hot.
Colin then took the driving seat for the last part of our drive to Bordeaux. It got a lot busier as we approached the city but the directions for collecting the keys was accurate and I managed to find them in the key safe cunningly located behind the nearby bakery. The biggest challenge was working out exactly here we should park but we eventually found it around the back and the car park is very secure so no worries about leaving our car there.
We were flagging now but a last spurt of energy took us to the local Carre Four which although fairly small, had enough items and most importantly cider for our first dinner on our lovely balcony.
