The snow is melting although we have more forecast for tomorrow. Teddington looks almost monotone today with white snow and grey slush until I spotted this man walking along the street. He was a splash of colour in an otherwise grey day and as soon as I saw him I knew he should be todays photograph. I admired his jacket and collection of brooches (he was also sporting a bright red pair of vinyl trousers) and asked if I could take a photograph. He explained that his colourful outfit was because he had discovered himself through “Dr Thomas Campbell’s ‘Big Theory of Everything’”. Whatever it was, he was a beacon of colour on a grey day.
Love this! Emma you must have been very happy to see him! this is great, so colourful and eclectic. I have to say thanks to 365 I've had lots of conversations with people that I wouldn't have spoken to otherwise already!
@nicolaeastwood - I totally agree with you and this project is making me think so much more about photography day to day, it is also the most positive 'forum' situation I have ever come across with only ever friendly and helpful/constructive advice from people @steampowered - Oh dear... I could not possible comment ha! ha! I was a bit worried when he suddenly produced a card from inside his jacket with felt tipped pictures and details of a strange Youtube site but all 'in the cause of photography'!!
It is always interesting to see the choices made in the viewpoint of a photographic study. So many questions about this person and why he chose the decorations - what meaning for him. By choosing this closeup - it leaves a mystery of what this person really looked like. It does take courage to speak to a stranger. But I think he would have been honoured to have you ask him to be your subject for the day.
