A visit today by boat to the town of Nyaung Shwe on the Northern edge of Inle Lake - not a particularly interesting town until these novice Buddhist nuns appeared, collecting their alms at lunchtime. They wear dark dark saffron under-robes covered with a deep pink (the colour of intelligence). I love the colour of their umbrellas and robes against the dusty street.
