20 March 2013

In a mission to escape the piles of post-holiday washing I went out determined to find some signs of Spring in Bushy Park. I was shocked at the amount of flooding and the way it looked exactly the same as when we left some 5 weeks ago!

I eventually found the first pink cherry blossom starting to open. As I always think of Japan when I see the cherry blossom I decided to try and create the look of the type of image that often appears on Japanese ceramics with a touch of over-saturation, upping the contrast and using the on camera flash to really brighten the flowers. The flat grey sky worked well as a neutral background.
Lovely! Let's hope that we don't get a frost to blight it.
