Doesn't that line of traffic just look so small and inconsequential here? I think so.
Using Pikmonkey or Picassa (I don't have PS) can anyone give me some tips on how to make the cars/road lighter and stand out but not mess with the rest of the pic (trees/sky/clouds)? I used a bit of eye bright on the road (even tried tooth whitener which did not work but does sometimes) and it brought out the road a bit more than in the orig. but it is still too dark and hard to see. Thanks in advance!
You want to go to the effects options and choose "dodge" I think- that gives you the option to lighten certain portions of your shot without changing the rest of it. You can adjust the brush size accordingly. (If it's not the "dodge" effect that lightens, then it's "burn"- but I'm pretty sure it's dodge you're looking for.)
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann...I tried that before I posted it and it did not seem to do anything...sometims when on piknik site would freeze on certin options and it would seem like you were doing the edit but you would hit cancel and original pic was same as the edited one. Let me try again....
@espyetta You do have to be patient with it. I just keep rolling the brush around over the area that I'm lightening until I see what I want. You can also play a little bit with the exposure before you try the dodging but that does affect the overall picture and not the specific spot you want. Then there's less dodging to do when you apply that affect. Again, it just depends on how patient you can be until you get what you want. Sometimes, I'm not that patient and I just abandoned the picture!
In microsoft office picture you can go to brightness and contrast and lighten the midtones which will sometimes give you what you are looking for I think
