Sharing a Bite...

Red-headed Sawfly Larvae

Yes, there is an e on that word "larva." There are two of them on a pine needle...chowing down.

It looks like I did a post processing edit, but I did not. this is SOOC except for a crop. I might have used "sharpen" on this one too. Not sure.

To show you how small these are, that is a pine needle they are munching on.

@tara11 Yeah. I saw all of them Sat. evening at about dusk as we went to eat dinner at El Sombrero. I took a shot, but it was dim..but there was a whole CLOB of these guys. Today, they had spread out, each on a needle..except these two...who were sharing.

I too thought it was a mirror! A fabulous shot and even more impressive that it was taken on your iPhone. They must be so tiny to be munching on a pine needle.
