A stone on the sand by etienne

A stone on the sand

This is an attempt inspired by some of the work of Freeman Patterson for the Artist Challenge. There is no water in the picture, these are all imprints left into the sand.

The actual subject was not really eye-catching on the beach, I could easily have walked past it, but the image keeps fascinating me now. I have made a second picture with a broader view that captures the complete drag pattern of the stone, but then the whole thing is a bit dissolved, so I prefer this one.
This photo really caught my eye, as I look at it closer the pattern reminds me of the scales of a fish.

this is really cool - love those water movements in sand patterns - and this is a great capture of them

You have definitely captured a photo which Patterson would have seen in this shot. The pattern, texture, and almost hidden "artist" who caused the design is perfectly composed. Congratulations on making the finalists! fav
