A black and a white form of nature in b&w

These two dogfish egg cases are entangled around a stranded stem of kelp. The breaks through which the baby shark probably escaped are clearly visible on the white one. These cases are not living objects, they are just encasings, they do not grow, they do not move, so I am amazed how tightly their passive filaments got "purposefully" entangled with the seaweed.
How lucky you are. For me finding shark egg cases are the most beautiful days in my life. Great in black and white. I could fav this over and over.

Isn't nature wonderful. This is such a natural piece of art - the black pod and the white pod, their geometric relationship with the stalk and the little hollows under them are all just wonderfully tied together - waiting for you to produce this marvellous image!
