Georgia on my mind

Providence United Methodist Church, Providence Canyon State Park

As we watched the election returns for the Senate races in Georgia, I remembered our drives through rural Georgia to visit Brandon at Fort Benning. In November 2016, when this was taken, the 1859 church was unused but still open, maintained by an active Methodist church nearby.

@grammyn It does seem like it was yesterday, but Brandon has been out of the Army for a year. It never worked out for us to meet up, but maybe sometime. There was so much I wanted to see and do around Columbus, but then my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and we haven't been able to travel much.

@eudora Oh Diane, I am so sorry to hear about that. I haven’t given up hope but I know it will probably be a while. The pandemic is putting the brakes on a lot of traveling right now.

It's a lovely little chapel and speaks of a much simpler faith- sort of refreshing when set against the rather concert like services held today. Good shot.
