I saw this as I was looking at the moon first thing this morning.
I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get it all in focus, but as I was aiming up into the palm tree while hanging on to the palm for balance while trying not to fall down the hill, I'll give myself some leeway.
@cottiac They are egg cases for some sort of bug. They are wee tiny. The length is probably 1cm. It's amazing what one sees as one starts paying attention for macro shots.
@cottiac You may or may not be interested, but I took a look at another photo from yesterday, and discovered that the other side has a perfectly circular hole, sometimes with a tiny bit attached so that it is like a wee hatch. Obviously whatever was in there is now out and has left the doors open. I wish I had realized all of this earlier so that I could get a better photo of that side. These things fascinate me.
@cottiac Unfortunately, it was very blurry. I was struggling to keep my camera steady while not falling down the hill. On that one, I failed miserably!
