Bee ablutions by evalieutionspics

Bee ablutions

I rescued a bee from the pool this morning, took some photos, turned around to get my tripod, looked at the pool, and there was a bee in the pool! I scooped him out so I could take some more photos, 'cause one can never have enough.

I was thinking at the time that the silly bee had just flown back in the pool, but it was obvious when I started taking photos that it was an entirely different bee. This one has a longer abdomen than the first one and no pollen collected.

I like the tiny drops of water on his wings and the translucency of his abdomen.
Great macro. The translucence and the legs in shadow are the bits I like best.

Wonderful shot - you're good at those and love that you rescue them out... poor things, will they ever learn?

@gaylewood Thank you very much! That is one advantage of rescuing them; for a while, they are a captive model while they recover. :)
