The orchard owner was burning all the pruned bits, so I was going to take a photo of the fire because it was spectacular, but as I was walking over, I saw this blossom. I liked the delicacy of the petals against the roughness of the bark.
As I was processing it, I was reminded of one morning when my husband, our middle son and I were going to Paphos about sunrise one morning. As the sun came over the mountain behind us, the mountains across the bay were dappled with pinks, purples, and blues. I commented on this. My husband and son both looked at me as though I had lost my mind and said the mountain was brown and green. I am sure, that if I said, "Look at all the blue and magenta in that branch!" They would still say I had lost my mind.
That delicate flower head is so precisely focused with such perfect lighting on it. I really like seeing the shadows of the stamen on the petals. My feeling is your mind is in tact!
