A Corner of the Bookcliffs

The view from my parents' front garden. I grew up in this valley. These are the scenes of my childhood. The image of the sun setting over the Colorado National Monument in the winter instantly brings back memories of sledding with my friends at the "camel humps." The sun touching the top of the Monument was our signal to head home. There were no parents to supervise us; just a bunch of kids on the hills by the river sledding like mad from the time school let out until sundown. It didn't matter how cold it was; we were always out there! Such good memories! Now there are houses built there.
what a beautiful scene and what wonderful memories - I must post a memory too - yours made me think of what we got up to as kids

How lucky to have grown up in their shadow. We used the streetlights, when they came on we had to go in for dinner.
