Every morning when I take the pups for a walk, Wilbur likes to walk by this plant so he gets the seeds all over his black coat. It is as though he is painting himself with wisps of fluff. I think every morning that I need to get back out with my camera while the light is still low so I can get it behind the little puff balls. This morning I remembered before getting caught up in the morning routine of birds, cleaning, and feeding.
I like the image. I like the light coming through the puffs and I like the softness behind. It is a two image stack. I did that because when I had the focus on only the front or the back, some of the "magic" was lost. When I increased my depth of field, it included an ugly irrigation installation right behind.
Thank you so much for explaining your rationale and the way you have taken this. I find it so helpful. The result is gorgeous. (There are times here, when the fluff from these just fills the air).
