Last week, we went to Agios Merkourios picnic site. It is a lovely place up in the mountains behind Argaka. We enjoyed the beautiful fall colors, the tranquility of the forest, the scent of the cedar and pine and the company of a farmer who had been up in the forest picking up downed wood. He stopped for a bit, and we chatted as best we could in our still limited Greek. He gave us pomegranates and oranges and continued on his way.
