This morning I finally gave in and photographed the purple flower. It has been begging me for days to photograph it as the sun comes up over the orchard. Today, after the birds were done, I did. I wanted to capture a solitary blossom against as neutral a background as I could. I contorted this way and that trying to make it happen with one flower, and lost the light! This is the best I could do with the stand-in blossom. I like the way it looks all painterly...which is completely a function of my lack of skill, but in this case, I like it.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you so much! I usually have my aperture as wide as it will go. If I want more of the subject in focus, I close it down a bit. On this one, I forgot!
@helenhall Thank you very much for your lovely comment!
@milaniet Thank you so much! The light breaks through the leaves in the orchard in patches, and that is what happened here. That is why I lost the light on the first flower. In just a few more minutes, the whole kit and caboodle is in shade.
