The funny thing about this project is I am getting to see areas of Colorado I have never seen before. My husband and I were returning from a couple of days of a getaway in the mountains and I wanted him to pull over for a shot of the mountains. We started up a dirt road a saw sign for a lake 2 miles away and I said, "hey, could we go up to the lake." We proceeded to head up the mountain encountering beautiful waterfalls and amazing mountain views along the way! I thought, well I certainly have my shot for the day! Well, then we headed back down the mountain and ran into a herd of mountain goats!! There were about 20 of them with babies. I had so much fun taking pictures of them! I have never seen a mountain goat up close, except for at the zoo! Now I have seen one in the wild in my own state! I feel so grateful!!
What a wonderful capture, Wendy! The babies are so cute, all of them looking a little unsure of themselves on that mountainside. Love the background of rock and flowers, too. It's all beautiful.
@dvarey Thank you Diana!! The babies were very cautious!! The adults stayed their distance, but at one point, I was squatting waiting for one to come up the hill and as he approached, I was snapping away until he was right in front of me. I stood up and he hadn't realized I was there. Fortunately, he just stopped and backed up, as I hopped back in the car!! It was a fun close-up shot of him, but I preferred the shot with the babies! They would come up to the car and check it out, but then run up the road. It was so much fun watching this herd!
