I headed out before sunrise this morning to Dillon Reservoir. It was a calm, peaceful, crisp morning on the water. There was a mist rising from the water and I was graced by a flock of ducks passing by as I set up my shot. The colors did change to some pretty pinks just before sunrise, but I chose this panoramic shot after the sun graced the mountains and water calmed creating a reflection. It's this time of year I like to reflect on what I am thankful for in my life. This morning I was thankful to be able to capture the rare moments in nature and the amazing light on our Colorado landscape. I am also thankful for family, friends, love, nature, beauty, the crisp mountain air, health, and the list is endless. Take time to be thankful for the joys and experiences in your life and to dream of what's yet to follow. There is so much to be grateful for and so much taken for granted in this world of turmoil. Yet, there is so much joy in the daily sunrises and sunsets of life, so enjoy the simple pleasures and seek out the beauty surrounding you everyday, no matter how great or small they may be.
This is just beautiful. We have fished in this lake, and in fact my husband caught his biggest trout ever there. Yes, we are truly blessed with the beautiful things of every day life. Happy Thanksgiving!
Wonderfully words, Wendy. You're so right - I think 365 has helped me be aware of how much beauty there is around us to be enjoyed and for that I am quite thankful. This is one of the most beautiful shots I've seen of Dillon Reservoir -a definite fav - you captured in beautifully.
