I guess you never know what you will find in your own back yard. I noticed apples on the apple tree last night! That makes me think fall is on its way, but by today's hot and muggy weather, it sure doesn't feel like it.
@aspada I thought it was a crab apple, but I am not sure. The apples are regular sized and the blossoms are white. The fruit is spotty and pocked because we don't spray the tree. My father made applesauce one year, but we generally do not eat the fruit.
But it's still fun to have your own apple tree, isn't it. They do look larger than a crab apple but then there's one down by the trail that I thought was a crab apple this spring by its blooms, and the apples are about the same size. Guess this muggy stuff is everywhere!
