Busy day cutting grass...looked like a meadow!! and other stuff, went into Rye for a well deserved drink, this is Ypres Tower the 2nd oldest building in Rye, built in the 14th century and in the 16th century was the 7th busiest port BUT the sea receded and is now farmland!! to the right of the tower you can see the channel that now leads out to the sea, fishing boats now come up the channel into Rye.
@seanoneill oh you will love it, i had a very keen photographer staying from Brussels and i sent him there ........he loved it.........the pylons, lighthouses and old shacks on the shingles its just extraordinary...look forward to seeing the results!!
what a lovely tower, I'm a fan of that part of the coast too, though haven't been in too long...now the weather is getting better, I might get myself down there!
