Sun Dial by farmreporter

Sun Dial

I had an opportunity to wander the Ottawa Experimental Farm on an absolutely beautifully warm day for November 2. So many photogenic spots just begging to be taken, so little time!
I have a funny feeling the 365 community will be getting to know this gem over the next few weeks!
This sundial was erected in 1936 to the memory of WT Macoun,(1869 - 1933)the first Dominion horticulturist and developer of the Macoun apple. The garden covers the site formerly occupied by his residences. He personally planted and cared for the perennial garden still located here.
I'm already intrigued!

It will be interesting to know how effective the sun dial is. It looks like there is a lot of shade.

Loving that slate wall Wendy. This looks a very nice spot to walk around. The sundial is under the trees by the looks of it, does it still work?

Sorry my odd nature sees a chocolate hersey's kiss on the sundial. Might be timed for supper.

Looks lovely. I like the way the sundial appears to be framed by the trees behind and that little peek of autumn color in the background. Very nice 😌

What a beautiful base for that dial and beautiful symmetry and framing for the whole shot too Wendy.
