This shot works for my get pushed challenge set by Rob Z @robz who asked that I learn a new edit from a program I am using.
Lightroom is proving to be a great program. I was able to seamlessly go through about 250 shots I took today at the girls hockey tournament to weed out the junk to about ten of the better shots.
Here is how the work flow went:
1 - I tweaked one shot to get the exposure correct, adjust white balance, etc. I then set that adjustment as a preset, and applied it to all shots.
2 - All adjusted photos are in a grid view where you can flag the obvious garbage, and then delete them all at once which brought my choices down to about 40 photos.
3 - I was then able to set the remaining photos on a star rating which then really narrowed down my favourites to six.
This shot is one of those six ... I don't think I could choose an absolute favourite out of them all though. I liked the sense of anticipation in this shot - wondering if the defender was able to stop both attackers (she did!)
Great capture...glad you are finding LR to be easy. I have always liked it's functionality although at times it's a bit fussy. Certainly the best for culling photos!
@jackies365
I find that learning it is time consuming since I am learning by seeing what happens when I do something. I know it WILL save time in the long run but it is definitely a time consumer at the moment.
I still have a ton of questions ...
Wow Wendy - what a strong tool this is! What you have outlined for us seems so simple to do and sooo time saving. Didn't you have a different photo up before - I remember admiring the wonderful movement in the background. It was good - but I think I like this one a little better - it tells such a good story. P.S. Makes me wonder if I need this program? Cheers Rob
@robz
I really like LR but am so glad that I took an elementary course on it first so I could at least see what it does.
I still have a ton of questions - but it does seem to work well.
The main feature is the ability to organize your shots so you can find them again.
After 10 years of doing things on my own - I really need to get a system that works.

What about experimenting with that?
Thank you, Saxa. That is a great challenge!
Do you mind if I issue yours in the morning (about 12 hours from now?)
