Only For A Short Time!

Laura at @laphotographic challenged me to do festive food photography for my get pushed challenge.
Well - I discovered that there is a real art to doing food photography well - and that is an art I do not have!!
But - thank goodness for the get pushed challenge. It pushes you to use techniques that you would not normally do and then learn from them!
Well, it certainly looks as you've gotten the art of food photography in this shot...so vivid and the textures really stand out. Beautifully arranged as well.

@granagringa
But there is no artistry here ... you know the fancy ribbons or plates, or sugar falling from the sky, or anything like that!!
It's just plain old food on my black stove top!!

The best seem so simple but really aren't. Give me a good landscape to photograph

Here is my attempt at food photography, Laura! @la_photographic
I thought it would be easy to do at this time of the year but there was never enough time to take the shot before people started eating it!

@joansmor
I'm with you on that!!

@farmreporter ah, "subconscious competence"..that bit of black reflection (your stovetop looks a lot cleaner and shinier than mine!) and it's the closeup factor...I'm salivating looking at it. Ok..now you know to try adding that sprinkling sugar ala Mona! As the old cigarette ad says "you've come a long way, baby!".

You did well. I'm afraid I can't give you any tips.

Thank you for the challenge. We do have black angus, and we do have snow. We are predominantly a feedlot, and most of the cattle are in pens. We do have cows, but they moved them last week and they are rather inaccessible to me right now, but I will see what I can do.

Your challenge is to try out in-camera multiple exposure. Here's the link to your manual: http://download.nikonimglib.com/archive3/Q3Q8q001RCR303gJ4tp98L2fLB94/D7200UM_NT(En)04.pdf
the image overlay is on page 294.
I do hope you can have a bit of fun playing with this. If you'd prefer a different challenge, though, just let me know.
