White on white (not really) by farmreporter

White on white (not really)

This week's challenge is white on white so I was drawn to how the white birches blend in against the white clouds. It is white on white - with black lines and splots of colour here and there!
I found this challenge one of the most difficult to do and it has me wondering what shade of white is true white? Each white I found has a subtle shade of another colour in it that makes it off 'white' and it is most noticeable when against another 'white' object.
Was reluctant to post this as a get pushed response, but decided I would because of the starkness of the birch bark against the white clouds.
A very contrasty image. Would be almost b&w if it wasn't for the leaves. Very nice. Looks good on black too :)

I too love the contrast here, very nice! The white background brings out the yellow very nicely

Nice to include the leaves for a touch of contrast.

Here is my first attempt, April @aecasey. Really enjoyed looking at the world without colour and seeing how many things were actually white and saw a mushroom, dog's fur, trees, clouds, etc. but they all had shades of colours in them. Quite an interesting challenge!

This is so beautiful! I, too, have struggled with white on white, and while this has touches of color it is so lovely I'm really glad you posted it.

I think this is beautiful, I love the golden brown of the Autumn leaves against the white sky, fav.
