Frozen Bubble Once Again by farmreporter

Frozen Bubble Once Again

Jeannie @jeanniec57 gave me a recipe for making stronger bubbles that do not burst as easily as the cheap kids bubbles, The only thing is - this recipe did not make the nice frosting that I see on some frozen bubble photography!
These guys were sure tough though!
The weather was certainly cold enough today but it was also very windy so I resorted to doing these bubbles in Hubby's unheated shop. The shop lights are what gives this bubble such nice sparkle.
It was so cold that I only worked on this for 15 minutes - my poor camera and fingers were starting to complain! Too bad it has to be so danged cold to do this!
This is my last attempt at the latest Black and White challenge which is bubbles and drops.
You are brave to attempt it where you live. It’s cold up there! I like this anyway!

@louannwarren It really was fun to do even with the cold, Lou Ann. Think I will give it another go with a different recipe to find one that works well. Thank you for your kind comment and FAV!
@dide So good for you to comment, Dianne. I really appreciate it!
@lynnz These bubbles are amazingly durable - catching them and getting them on a nice base was the hard part. @ludwigsdiana Thanks, Diana! It was fun to do (for a short time - lol!)
@Dawn Thanks for your comment and Fav, Dawn! I am relatively happy with this. Want to try it again with a different recipe and better light to see if I can get a more interesting texture on the bubble.
@mcsiegle It was cold, Mary, but then - that is what frozen bubble making needs I guess! Rather a pain about that.
@henrir Thank you so much for the fav and comment, Henri. Much appreciated!

what an interesting project - It's one I want a go at but we rarely get cold enough here

OK, I've been looking through your project wondering what to set you - and seeing the list of things you have been challenged with. For your Get Pushed challenge, I want you to use a setting of your camera you never normally use, whether it's some in-camera processing or a pre-set for a scene you do not usually use. If you use your camera on manual, compare the result from the pre-sets to the manual result.

@shannejw
That is a great challenge, thank you! I am 90% on manual and have been thinking about exploring the pre-sets!
Thank you!

Pleases may I have the recipe Wendy? Happy for you to email it! We're 'dong' bubbles in camera club next month. Must be really really cold where you are!

Here is the recipe that Jeannie @jeanniec57 passed on to me. 3 cups of water, 1 cup of dish soap and1 tablespoon of glycerin or 1/4 cup of corn syrup ... she has read to add a tablespoon of sugar too... she or I haven't tried the sugar ...yet ! It may be the sugar that makes the fancy frosting textures. Must try that next time when it warms up just a bit.
