The best part of photography is being able to do what you want to make a photo the way you want to.
I purposely used a shallow depth of field to put the barn out of focus. I liked the natural framing I would not have been able to do if I had done it any other way.
I love all the pictures of your barn. Even though it is the "rickety" part of your photo, the leaves take precedence; a unique interpretation of the word. Nice job!
