February Words - Endangered by farmreporter

February Words - Endangered

Turkeys are back. They were once endangered in our area but were re-introduced some time ago and are now very common.
The wild turkeys are very shy and easily spooked. They tend to keep to the woods, seldom coming into people's yards unless they are VERY hungry.
The snow is now deep, and food is scarce. They have once again discovered our bird feeders so I guess I will have to start putting out the corn for them again!
That annoying snow covered line above them in the photo is my clothes line.
I like them all in a row!

That annoying line adds to the scene, shows the ice and echoes slope bottom left. Are wild turkeys common or endangered??

Good capture. The turkeys in the hood cover a wide area and are not afraid to wander through our yards. They seem to be hanging out at the physician offices near the hospital on the next hill.

I like your icy clothes line - it seems to corral the turkeys all together in that one area. :)
