August Alphabet Words - Octagon

Wasps usually build octagon shaped nests but these guys preferred the gentle sweeping circles than the sharper edged octagons.
They build over our patio door every summer. I am not sure where they go to hibernate in the winter but they are gone before the snow flies.

Although it is not a perfect octagon, it is a great photo and it works well for the word! Not sure if I would be happy to have them every summer, though...

Great idea. I didn't even think of wasps nests. I'm sure we have some around here.
