This striking mural is on the back of the old Metronome Theatre in Folkestone, and the artist is Leigh Mulley. She says "I wanted my mural to address the very real issue of wild creatures who get needlessly persecuted ... I thought if I could just put up a beautiful, impacting image out there ... I might appeal to people to view them in a different way".
There were a couple of seagulls strolling around the adjacent car park and I would have loved to have caught one or two flying past, but they didn't oblige unfortunately.
@peadar Hopefully another may follow:) Glad you liked it, I think she's done a beautiful job here, even to the catchlight in his eye. I did crop the image slightly to removed the parked motorbike - I take on board your comments re parked cars!
@overalvandaan@hermann Really happy you liked this one, I turned a corner down a side street and there it was - the artist is really talented. And yes, we have created the gull problem ourselves sadly.
Stunning artwork.
We are paired in this week's get pushed challenge. My challenge to you is to either take a still life picture or take an item or object from your kitchen or bathroom and capture it in an unusual or unique way. I hope you are happy with the challenge and have some fun.
@salza Hi Sally, thanks for that, am looking forward to playing:). You are really good at Photoshop so how would you feel about trying a typography portrait? I've tried this and failed miserably. Or how about a torn paper portrait or image? I did one of these back in May courtesy of Mike Gifford's instructions.
@fbailey cool I will give it a go, hopefully time will be kind. I have played around with typography before but wasn't happy with the results so it's time to try again. I will have a look at your torn paper portrait and see what that's all about.
It was on 26 May, Miscellany album. I'd hoped to find a hunk with a baggy T-shirt and a 6 pack but had to settle for my dog instead! I had a lot of fun with this so hope you do too:)
@golftragic@jclaireyp@littleconnie@tonygig@joansmor@salza@merrelyn@bigmxx@psychographer Thanks very much for stopping by. Whether you like them or loathe them, I think this mural is terrific, a real stop you in your tracks treat:) I didn't see any seagull marks on it and it has been up for a couple of years, but I only checked it out from the edge of the car park. They may well have added a signature or two!
