Went over to Folkestone this evening in search of last year's starling murmuration. Thought I saw them but it was just clouds ... visiting optician in the next month or so!
Lovely image ... you need to come and visit my part of the world Felicity ... love watching the starlings mumur at this time of the year ... last year was watching a group who had just descended into the reeds when a marsh harrier came out of the reeds and unsettled them ... poor little things ... but do so love my marsh harriers
500 pics. Who would have thought it? Certainly not yourself. Pity it wasn't a murmuration (never seen one, sigh) but it's still an eye catching image.

What a wonderful word - I had to look up what it means - but I wish you had been able to catch it! Is the dark part in this image roughly what it looks like?
@robz Hi Rob, me too! Will keep trying. Thousands of starlings all flying in synchronization looks rather like a huge whirling wispy cloud ever changing direction - if you Google starling murmuration you should be able to see a video. Amazing sight to see :)
