No need to comment, this is my first play with PSE11 trying out focus stacking. I used seven pictures and spent an inordinate amount of time faffing with this, great fun. The result is definitely not perfect, but I'm running late for everything now, so this will have to be today's picture. I will get there hopefully sooner rather than later. If you check out Adi @adi314 (Stacked No 1 and Stacked No 2), this is how focus stacking should look!
@adi314 Thanks very much for the link. I have PSE11 which doesn't sadly photo stack, but it does photo merge, so I guess the above is merged rather than stacked. It will only take 10 pics at a time. I did download a free trial of Zerene Stacker so I guess I'd better read the tutorial on that one!
@ivan@helenhall In macro or quite close up you usually get a lot of bokeh and one small area sharply defined. If you take several pictures focussing on different areas of the subject and then stack or merge them together, the aim is to have a wholly sharp image. As you can see, especially on a computer screen, I was only partially successful:) A work in progress!
Your day sounds like mine. I've been playing around wit focus stack too.
This is lovely. I really like the sharp focus on the drops of water against those glorious peacock colours.
