Dismal Start by fbailey

Dismal Start

Woke up early and had the bright idea of catching the sunrise at Folkestone Harbour. I had an image in my head of orange streaks across the water, silhouettes of boats etc. Will check the weather next time, the sun couldn't make an appearance due to the thickness of the cloud banks!

Yes, there are two little houses in the picture. One on the end of the pier and the other, somewhat incongruously, afloat on the tide. These are two exhibits which featured in last year's Folkestone Triennial Art Exhibition. If and when they are removed, the harbour will not seem the same without them ...
glad you took this in spite of it not being what you had in mind because this misty look with touches of color is lovely--I like the peacefulness of it too

The sun may have been absent, but I just love this shot. It is such a quaint harbour with the boats dotted around and I love the little houses.

I love the marine feel to this shot as I can almost feel the mist in the air. Such a pretty scene with the boats and little houses

Love the little house boats, at first look I thought that you had added them in Photoshop. We get quite a few real house boats in our canals at home, but they are definitely not as cute as these.

Great marina scene and capture.

Oh dear. I think you must check the weather if you are going to drag yourself out of bed for a sunrise shot. Having said that, this is a rather good capture and I am sure benefits from being taken in that first light of the day.

Great shot. I love how the boats are all facing the pink house.

I predict that the one on the pier will jump off to join the other one in the water!

What's happening to that little pink house? Quite a quirky shot - in a good way
