Zig Zag Path #2 by fbailey

Zig Zag Path #2

Sorry, another shot from yesterday. This path is such an ideal place to take pictures featuring natural (or manmade) frames that there may be quite a few of these appearing for the FramingJuly19 monthly theme.

Huge learning curve here for me at any rate because the exposure factor inside in the gloom contrasting with the outside world is so pronounced. I did try lots of faffing about with the Refine Edge tool and layer masks but in the end resorted to dodging and burning. If anyone out there has any suggestions, would be most grateful to hear them!
Nice one! But the tag is framingjuly19 not flaming :)

lovely framing

this is lovely and the framing is beautiful. The option for taking them could be taking triplets and HDR - my camera shows them as +/-

I also suggest taking more than one shot and blending them together in your favorite post processing method.

Great capture and framing

Nice one. HDR has been suggested above. In Lightroom there are various ways of coping with this problem, but I don't think you use LR? 🤔

Don't be sorry.........I haven't time for photos this week much either. Peter above seems to have an answer.

lovely framing - and plenty of detail, inside and out.

It's a lovely result FB. I'm afraid I'm not much use for any ideas re your camera in these conditions. With my little one I love these conditions because I can use the spot metering setting with the exposure bias to get all sorts of interesting results. But I'm afraid none of them would be natural daytime looks like you have achieved here. :)

Wow love the natural framing............3 shots in hdr is a great option!

The stone makes a nice frame for what's beyond. This might be a good place for photo stacking.

Great place for a photgrapher. Have fun.

@peadar Thanks Peter, HDR didn't work on some of the shots as the sunlight was exacerbated and it made it more blown out than ever. I don't have LR but thanks for the suggestion. I use PSE and you've reminded me that ages ago someone from Get Pushed challenged me on much the same thing using exposure comp. Am now going to track back and try and find the link - it may take a while!

@farmreporter Thanks for that Wendy, I had a GP challenge ages ago from Kali I think and the subject was exposure compensation. Now need to find the link!

@randystreat Thanks Kathy, I never thought of that one!

@radiogirl Thanks for that but I think that is beyond my technical ability - come to think of it, I also had a Get Pushed challenge ages ago re an HDR effect so am off to try and find that one too! Thanks again:)
