Achimenes is a genus of about 25 species of tropical and subtropical rhizomatous perennial herbs in the flowering plant family Gesneriaceae. They have a multitude of common names such as magic flowers, widow's tears, Cupid's bower, or hot water plant.
The first flower on the rhizomes given to me by a friend.
I don't know this plant with so many descriptive names. but I do feel as though those petals are reaching right through the screen such that I could gently touch them. The perfect combination of focus and depth of field.
