This week's Get Pushed challenge came from Jackie, who asked for a picture showing pedestrians in mid stride.
I struggled with this more than I have done so far with the 100 Strangers Project. With the 100 Strangers you ask to take their picture and it's all above board. This challenge seemed a little sneaky to me and I came to the conclusion I would have to appear to be photographing something of interest when the pedestrians just happened to walk through the scene.
The first two pictures are looking towards Dover Castle from the new shopping centre this morning, followed by a visit to nearby St James' Church or what is left of it now, and after eating my lunch inside the ruins, I managed to catch a pedestrian striding by.
The bottom two pictures were taken in Russell Gardens at the nature reserve near Kearsney Abbey this afternoon. I tried to be far too clever for my own good here and thought the reflections would improve the overall shot. Also it allowed me to pretend I was taking pictures of the ducks ... It may be my imagination, but the girl in the middle picture does appear to be looking at me with some suspicion.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jackie, Here's my offering for your challenge. I found this tough. I tried street shots (no-one was striding in them), shoot without looking shots (spray and pray shots) but all I got were pavements, kerbs and the odd foot. So I resorted to playing tourist and putting a fair bit of distance between the subject and the camera. Didn't feel right though. The figures are tiny I'm afraid but there's a fair bit of striding going on:)
LOL - your technique of "just happened to be photographing something of interest when...." is exactly what I resorted to!! It's sneaky but not as embarrassing. You got some great shots for the collage. :)
