I was taking pictures down at Folkestone Harbour today as was this gentleman. He asked if he could take a picture of my dog (Tally the Sheltie) to show his girlfriend, and I was only too happy to say yes. I told him what I was hoping to achieve with my shots of the Harbour and we then had a conversation about DSLRs v. phone cameras .
My 100 Strangers project has ground to a halt for the last year so I asked if he'd mind my taking his picture. He agreed readily to my request and I was so grateful, I forgot to ask his name! He did tell me he is a model for a body paint artist and is used to both being photographed and his pictures being posted on the internet.
A really nice chap who likes dogs and is obviously very fond of his girlfriend:)
@randystreat All I can suggest is just wander around with a camera and wait for someone to start a conversation with you. I guess people do talk to me a fair bit due to my dog who's v fluffy and cute if you like dogs. It's not something I've found easy at all, and I fight shy of asking anyone kind enough to agree to my taking a shot for any personal details. Folkestone is quite a good spot for strangers as it has a lot of tourists. Good luck!
