Blue Reflections

Just been having huge fun with new to me (Ebay special) IR converted camera - I realise IR isn't to everyone's taste, so no need to comment, but I had to put this up because it has restored my flagging phojo. I probably should have toned the colours a little but hey, it's a work in progress!
I love this! It makes it look like a Christmas card. I remember Jorlam's IR photos when she was on here (still miss that lady) and I always enjoyed them. Never tried it myself but I think I would enjoy messing with it.

I like it. I always enjoy a different spin on the same subjects.

@casablanca It was because of Jorlam's encouragement I stuck it on here at the beginning. I'm sure I would have fallen by the wayside otherwise. I wish she was still here too, would love to have met her. It really is great fun and it's another fairly large learning curve for me to play with.

@fbailey Do you know what happened to her? I was wondering if she had passed away as she was just gone so suddenly and then some months later her account disappeared.

@casablanca No, I'm sorry I can't help you there. I do hope not. I know she did photo trips with a chap called Peter from here but I never contacted him to see what had happened as I didn't know him.

@fbailey Just wondered. As you say, she was a huge encourager on here. She cheered me on many times in the early days and I really appreciated her. Looking forward to your further adventures into IR. Tempted to dabble in a filter......

Fabulous - I do love the IR - (only dabbled with the attachable filter) but love the look. Definite FAV!

@casablanca I can recommend it. Try looking at some YouTube tutorials to see what is involved because there's a fair bit of Photoshop too but don't let it put you off! Keeps the grey cells on their toes:)

I am too tired now to Google IR - can somebody give a one line definition?! Please.

Made it look like winter...LOVE it!

@quietpurplehaze IR stands for infrared - it looks at light in a different way, dark colours go white (especially foliage and grass) and skies go dark (chocolate or deep blue) - it's very otherworldly and surreal if you manage to get it right and I'm definitely still working on it! Hope this helps.

Wow... makes feel chilly just by looking at it.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond It came straight out of camera with a chocolate sky (rather yummy looking) and white foliage. I swapped the colours in the Channel Mixer around to get the blue sky and then gave it a small boost - such a clever camera!
