@fbailey end of month? wow, that takes long... i ordered on saterday and got it on monday... i hate waiting haha... i ordered mine at "Marktplaats" some Dutch site...
@madeinnl I just picked this site as it listed compatability with my camera(s) - you probably know much more abt this sort of thing than I do - also price was ok:)
Gavin Hoey is my favourite YouTube photographer. Learned so much studio stuff from him :-) Liking this too. Has a negative image feel to it and also otherworldly. You should check out Simon Marsden's IR photography. Incredibly haunting stuff :-)
@paul10 Thanks so much for the tip, amazing photographer! I'm getting very keen on IR but have limited resources (no LR or full Photoshop, just PSE11) and extremely limited knowledge. It does seem very daunting at the moment.
i think this is just stunning. i shall check out gavin joey and simon marsden. haven't tried any i r at all yet. meanwhile, i would love to get some vintage lenses ... do you mean that eBay list compatibility with different cameras?
This is lovely. Now I am a bit slow when it comes to seeing the benefits of an IR filter. I have never warmed to the results much. Although I do like this - so maybe you can convince me.
@pistache Thank you! Gavin Hoey does such easy to follow, straightforward YouTube videos and doesn't talk down to you either. Simon Marsden's pics are incredible, pure quality. Re vintage lenses - I don't know what to look for here but I found an advert for a Helios lens (love the bokeh) on Ebay for about £40 including postage from Russia. I'd Googled Nikon fit but luckily the description listed all the Nikon cameras it's supposed to be compatible with and mine was there. So that swung it for me. I did order a 1970's MIR camera (Zorki predecessor) from the Ukraine a few months ago - sentimentality, my Dad had one - and that arrived and works perfectly so Russia looked a viable location:) We shall have to see! I don't believe all Ebay listings give camera compatibility. Hope this helps!

Love to read all the comments, never try ir, but it looks great.
