The Edge of Night

New York City, 42nd Street from the Hudson River.

Fall of 2016 we were fortunate to be on a trans-Atlantic cruise that came into NYC on a beautiful sunny afternoon. When we left the following night, it was drizzly. I happened to take almost the exact photograph both days -- one daytime, one nighttime.

I've recently seen an amazing series by Stephen Wilkes where he morphs night into day. I'm a rookie in Photoshop, but one of my goals for 2018 is to become at least a better rookie. Inspired by Wilkes' work, I decided to try to blend my two photographs together to get my own simplistic version of Night into Day.

Best on Black.
Stunning image.

That is an amazing picture! Before reading the title and comment, I thought it looked like a cloud from a fire. D finitely caught my interest and kept my brain working! I’ve seen Wilkes images and they are phenomenal! Can’t wait to see more of your work!
