Mystery Dragon

EDITED to add identification: Horned CIubtail Dragonfly. I read that if the eyes don't meet up at the top of the dragonfly's head, it's a clubtail.

I don't think I've seen a dragonfly this color before, so maybe it's young, or a female, or something new the wind blew in.

It was quite a bit bigger than the usual dragonflies I see in our little wild, woodsy area.

Even though he's rather unattractive, he does look better on black.

@milaniet @jgpittenger Once in a while, I go "bugging" with my bird lens -- 150-500 zoom. I actually have to be quite a ways away from the subject, and then it's tricky to focus. But when it works, it works!
